I want to dive into the practice of yoga and really dedicate myself to life. How can I go about this?
I am a student / teacher and not can not afford the luxury of joining a yoga studio. Not only that, I am discouraged by the lack of classes in my area. Meanwhile, I would like to participate in a study because I think also that I do not have much room in my apartment and it is difficult to motivate myself to exercise at home. I can not wait to learn everything there is to know about yoga, but I'm bored with DVDs and would not benefit from exercise of book. Does anyone have suggestions on how I could get into yoga a low cost? Any suggestions for books, movies, podcasts, what is well received and appreciated.
Maybe you want to enjoy the freedom, the streaming technology classes offered in http://yogatoday.com/. A good book that explores the many types of yoga is "the yoga tradition: its history, literature, philosophy and practice" by George Feuerstein. Http: / / www.amazon.com / Yoga Tradition-Literature-Philosophy-Practice / dp/1890772186. encompasses not only the practice of postures (asanas) which is an important component of hatha yoga, but also many types of yoga, where the practice of asanas is not a central element (Bhakti yoga, karma yoga, jnana yoga, etc.) If you can not afford a copy right now, check your library. If not, ask if do, the interlibrary loan library (where your library "check" the book you are looking for another library. If you believe you are interested in a traditional practice of Hatha, I recommend DVD's Dharma Mittra Maha Sadhana Level 1.
