Do you really burn more fat the more muscle you have?
I’ve been using some Gilad workout videos to work the muscles in my legs and abs, because I’m wanting to get rid of a little excess fat.
I always start these types of workouts with about a 15 min jog, just to get my heart rate up.
I heard somewhere that building muscle increases fat burn, but I feel like compared to running, things like Pilates and Yoga aren’t as effective at burning the fat..perhaps because it doesn’t make me breathe as heavy or make my heart work as hard as running.
Is this true? Do you really burn fat the more muscle you have?
Or are things like running and other cardio more effective at burning fat?
Both helps increase the amt of fat you burn. Building muscle increases fat burn b/c it uses up more calories and doing things like cardio do the same. So even when you’re sitting you are using up more calories the more muscle mass you have.
