What are some good areas to live around Denver?
My dad is being relocated from Boise, ID to Denver, CO for work. He is single and likes being outdoors. He currently rides his bike to work nearly everyday, runs on a bike/running path during his lunch ours, and enjoys yoga, cross country skiing, mountain biking and golf during his free time. He also eats out most of his meals due to lack of cooking abilities. He will be working in the Tech area south of Denver. He is looking to rent or buy, if he can find something small and affordable. I am trying to help him find some fun and active areas, anyone have any good ideas?
I live in CO and Tech area has some very nice condos he can start at. Tech area has a lot of office buildings and many roads where he could take his bike to work. It’s also about 15 min ride to downtown if you take highway. Englewood area is also very nice. It’s close to Tech area. They’re both not too far from the center of “activities.” To ski and mountain bike of course he’d have to go to the mountains which is about 1-3 hours drive, depends where you’re going from/to and what the weather is like. Mountains are not close to the city so I’m sure he doesn’t want to live there and be in traffic an hour or more each day. So those are the 2 areas I’d recommend. If he wants to be even closer to downtown then Washington Park is a nice area. It’s a big park surrounded by housing community and it’s a bit more pricey if he wants to buy.
