Yoga/Meditation Questions?

I would really like to start up with yoga and meditation and I have a few questions.

1. What are the best yoga dvds? I don’t have the time or money for a class so this is my only option. I also just feel more comfortable in a home setting.

2. How long does it typically take a woman to achieve that lean and toned yoga body? I am definitely not overweight, actually pretty thin, but I’d really like to be more toned. I used to go to the gym a lot but I just don’t really enjoy it anymore, and my arms also started to get freakishly muscle-y looking because they are pretty thin.

3. Does meditation help a lot with relaxation? Lately I’ve felt so full of anxiety and really nervous about things, like if I’m late and it’s really getting bad. I just need something to relax me.

#2 How long does it take-Since you are already thin and have experience going to the gym, you will have developed muscle memory which you will see results even faster. Just make sure it is an active class like ashtanga or vinyasa flow as they are really good for keeping your muscles toned but not too big….Try to go at least 3 times per week, and if you could balance your active classes with a quiet class like yin or restorative, that would be even better for you. Those classees will also answer #3 because they enforce deeper stretches and more focus on breathing. The breathing will help your body and mind before sleep, If you take a restorative class at night, you will sleep beautifully. And try some sleepytime tea too, it;s yummy!
