What does yoga do for the body?
I am in recovery for an eating disorder so my mind is really fragile and I cannot gain anything or I will go insane no lie. I cannot get bigger whether it be muscle or fat, because I’m at my doctor’s goal weight. I usually don’t do exercise because my body isn’t strong enough, but my doctor suggested yoga. It would only be like one or two session a week.I would eat about the same amount of calories. What is yoga gunna do for my body?
Here are some different types of poses and the benefits that they possess
Standing:
The Crescent Moon Pose stretches and strengthens the arms and legs, increases stamina, improve balance and concentration, and can also relieve backaches. If you are suffering from diarrhea, high blood pressure or neck problems it is also a remedy.
Sitting:
The Child Pose is a gentle way of stretching your shoulders, hips, thighs, ankles, and back muscles. It is a relaxation posture which is done to normalize the circulation after performing the Headstand.
Twisting:
The Half Spinal Twist lengthens and strengthens the spine. It is also beneficial for your liver, kidneys, as well as adrenal glands.
Balance:
Upright Seated Angle improves balance, concentration and focus, opens the hips and stretches the backs of the legs.
Yoga can help if you have bad posture. With increased flexibility and strength comes better posture. Most standing and sitting poses develop core strength, because you’re counting on your deep abdominals to support and maintain each pose. Another benefit of yoga is the increased body awareness. This heightened awareness tells you more quickly when you’re slouching or slumping so you can adjust your posture.
