How do you relieve extreme stress?

Well…First of all, I am 15. Yes, I do have hormones and yes, my Mom is the main desicsion maker of the family, so she is the one who’s biting my butt. I think I do have a right to be stressed. We have moved 3 times in the past year and today I found out we are moving again! I got homechooled in Oklahoma, looseing all my school friends. Then I moved from Oklahoma to Arizona cutting off my great friends…(1) We moved into my Aunts house…Shortly after I had lost my new friends cosnidering we had moved once again (2) Then they got into a fight and we moved into our own apartments(3) I have made quite a few good friends and now, once again, I just word that we are moving again. I am about to rip my hair out and I have the anger to punch a hole in the wall. Please help me. I need self help, my Mom already says I shouldn’t be stressed out and she tells me to stop whineing, it’s her choice. Self help only, and no outside yoga places, please.

You should have a talk with another adult near you, like a school counselor. Even if you arent enrolled they will probably be willing to help you. Tell them your situation, that you are stressed because of your mom moving you around all the time and that she told you to stop whining about it and that you shouldnt be stressed over it all.

Theres obviously some reason why your mom cant settle in one place. Just because you fight with one person doesnt mean you have to move to another state, down the road or the next city should be fine. The fact that she said you shouldnt be stressed out and that its her choice says to me that either you and her havent talked about exactly why youre stressed or she isnt getting it and doesnt seem to care if moving bothers you or not.

So, talk to an adult about it because they should be able to help you convey better whats going on and maybe your mom will get the hint that you are seriously having trouble with the situation and hopefully you two can work something out and both be happy.

For the time being or if the above doesnt work, I also suggest taking pictures of all the places you get dragged off to. Start a page on Myspace (or just a blog) of your pictures, writing about your experiences in those places, rant away about whatever..basically it will be an online travel journal.

And I’m sure theres tons of groups with people in your same situation, you could join one and talk with them to find out how they cope with it, share your pix and whatnot.

If you have the internet, youll always be able to keep in touch with the friends you move away from. I know its not the same but its better than never hearing from them again right?

The Great Wall: China Against the World, 1000 BC – AD 2000

$12.00

Legendarily 2,200 years old and 4,300 miles long, the Great Wall of China seems to make an overwhelmingly confident physical statement about the country it spans: about China’s age-old sense of itself being an advanced civilization anxious to draw a clear line between itself and the “barbarians” at its borders. But behind the wall’s intimidating exterior—and the myths that have bui…
